SERVICES WILL BE HELD SATURDAY FOR FRED RUTHARDT
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. for Fred Ruthardt,
83, at the Knosher Funeral Home with the Rev. Robin Hess officiating. Interment
will be at the Spring Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Ruthardt was born December 20, 1879 at Mont-Carl,
Ill., and died January 1, 1963, in the Klickitat Valley Hospital.
Mr. Ruthardt moved with his parents to Mount Vernon,
S.D. in 1881. He was raised on a farm there and in 1907 he married Anna Titze.
He continued to do farm work and also carpentry work near Mitchell, S.D.
In 1929 he moved to Grandview, continuing his farm work
in the Belma district. In 1936 he moved to Goldendale and farmed near Blockhouse.
Recently he moved into Goldendale when he lived until the time of his death.
He was a lover of nature and the outdoors. He loved to
hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife Emma; three sons, Ed of Toppenish,
Leon of Grandview and Lewis of Goldendale; one daughter, Viola Oswalt of
Hurrah; one brother, John Ruthardt of Grants Pass; two sisters, Pauline Mott
of Langley and Hatie Rumholz of Hurrah; 21 grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Alma Langley, preceded him in death.
