FINAL RITES HELD FOR FRED HOLTMANN
Frederick William Holtmann, horn March 21, 1896 in Meredosia,
Illinois to Lizzie and Frederick Henry Holtmann, died on Sept.18 at the Hood
River Memorial Hospital. He was united in marriage at Sioux City, Iowa on
Sept.12, 1923 to Nellie Gertrude Buckmaster.
For twenty-eight years, Mr. Holtmann had been employed
by the State of Nebraska, Department of Highways and Irrigation, as a heavy
equipment operator. He came to this community in 1946.
For a number of years Mr. Holtmann had worked for Broughton
Lumber Company, retiring in 1964.
Surviving relatives are: his wife, Nellie of White Salmon;
three daughters: Vema Sullivan of Denver, Colorado, Clara Nigro of Omaha,
Nebraska and Mary Ann Voight of White Salmon; seven sons: Leon F. Holtmann
of White Salmon, Raymond of Trout Lake, Edward J. of Underwood, William of
Anchorage, Maska, Kenneth of Vancouver, Washington, Richard and Duane Holtmann
of White Salmon; two brothers: Adolph of Grand Island, Nebraska and Louis
Holtmann of Mill Grove, Missouri. There are twenty-nine grandchildren and
six great-grandsons.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept.22, 1975, 2 p.m.
at Our Savior Lutheran Church of Bingen, Washington with Rev. Theodore W.
Will, Jr., officiating. Interment was at White Salmon, Washington.
Active casket bearers were: William Gross, James Allaway,
Gregory Holtmann, Lawrence Ray Holtmann, Dennis L. Voigt, Donald M. Voigt
and Garry Holtmann.
Honorary bearers were: Carl Kapp, Don Thomas, Earl Nelson,
Harry Schultz, LeRoy Schultz, Bernard Fester, Syl Kirsten and Bill Katt.
