GRACE CREVLING

     Grace Ann Adams Crevling, daughter of Thomas D. Adams and Alice Duffield, was born June 20,1900 in the Horseshoe Bend area of Klickitat County. A life-time resident of Goldendale, she died in Gresham, Ore., Sept.18, 1976.
     She was married in 1917 to Harry G. Crevling who predeceased her in 1959. To this union are six surviving children: Valda Lent of McMinnville, Ore.; Ruth Wisdom of Portland; George Crevling of Kelso; Verbert Crevling of Rochester, NY; John Crevling of Naches, Wash. and Lois Layman of Yakima, Wash. A total of 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive.
     Her surviving sisters and brothers are: Mrs. Harry Wilson of Bickleton, Flora Van Hoy of Goldendale; Lee D. Adams of Portland; Hugh Adams of Guatemala, Central America, and Howard Adams of Bremerton, Wash.
     She was active in the Baptist Church and Sunday School teacher and a church clerk for twenty years. She was also an active member of the Rebekah, Evergreen Chapter of Eastern Star, as a VFW Auxiliary Officer, WCTU, the Baptist Missionary Society.
     She was a great inspiration to her children to obtain an education in school and church. Another of her favorite interests was the rebuilding of the Goldendale Baptist church about 1929. She wrote a pioneer religious history of the Goldendale Baptist Church. Also, she was interested in the pioneer history of Goldendale and knew many pioneer families. She volunteered time and energy in the museum of Goldendale.
     Funeral services will be held Friday, 2 p.m., at the Knosher Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Beck officiating. Interment will be in the Springcreek cemetery.
