FOUR WHITE SALMON RESIDENTS PASS DURING PAST WEEK
GERTRUDE A. DEBOIS
Gertrude A. DeBois passed away at the Hood River hospital February 16, 1950. She was born December 13, 1889 at Green Bay, Wisconsin. She had been a teacher in the bingen grade school for several years. She leaves her husband, Ervin A. DeBois, to mourn her passing. Services were held at Gardner Funeral Home Monday, February 20 at 2 p.m. with Rev. G.P. George officiating. She was buried in the Balch cemetery at Lyle.

MRS. DEBOIS DIES THRUSDAY AFTERNOON
The Bingen community was saddened yesterday afternoon
by news of the death of Mrs. Gertrude DeBois following an illness which had
extended over the past several years, but more recently the last month.
Until her recent illness she had been primary teacher
at the Bingen school, giving many of the local youngsters their first lessons
in the three R's.
She was well loved by all her pupils and will be missed
by all who knew her.

GERTRUDE A. DEBOIS
Funeral services for Gertrude A. Debois were held Monday
afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Gardner Funeral Home with Rev. G.P. George
officiating. Burial followed at the Balch Cemetery near Lyle.
Mrs. DeBois was born December 13, 1889 in Green Bay,
Wisconsin, and died at the Hood River hospital Thursday, February 16, 1950.
She came to Oregon in 1912 and was married to I.A. DeBois
in 1918. They moved to their home on the lake in 1926. Mrs.
DeBois had spent her life in the teaching profession, having taught in Wisconsin,
Oregon and Washington. She taught at Liberty Bond school for 9 years before
coming to the Bingen school in 1939 where she taught the primary grades until
her death.
She had been a member of the Grange for 25 years.
Surviving are her husband, Irving; a daughter, Mrs. Ray
Bailey of Newport, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. O.T. Brandt of Seattle; and a grandson,
Albert Bailey of Bingen.
