RITZSCHKE
Granville B. (Bud) Ritzschke, born September 16, 1906
in Centerville, passed away January 19.
Bud was born on the farm at that he and Luella Mildred
Barrett farmed since 1937. The couple was married July 17, 1933, and spent
the first year of their marriage in a tent on the Klickitat River where Bud
worked for J. Neal Company. Later they moved to a cabin on the Twin Bridges.
Bud began farming at the ranch in 1937, shortly before
his parents passed away, raising wheat and alfalfa and milking Holstein cows
for many years. Later he also raised sheep.
He was a member of the Federal Land Bank Assn. and of
Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his wife Luella; by a daughter, Lucinda
Adams of Tucson; by four sisters, Ester Jaekel of Goldendale, Minne Strahl
of The Dalles, Ilene Spense of Portland, and Ella Clarence of Klickitat;
by a brother, William H. Ritzschke, 97, of The Dalles; by one grandson and
many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Jan. 23 at the Centerville
Cemetery under the direction of Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home, the Rev. Sidney
Cox officiating.
Active pallbearers included Larry Tobin, Bud Clarence,
Johny Clarence, Dennis Jaekel, Joe Shattuck and Frank Spencer. Honorary
pallbearers were Don Ritzschke, E.C. Sturgis, Quentin Jaekel, Wilber Yeackel
and Howard Masters.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Centerville
Cemetery.
