TWO SUICIDES ACROSS THE COLUMBIA

     Two suicides were recorded in Washington last week, one in Glenwood and the other in Carson.
     Services were held Monday in Glenwood for Gustav Markgraf, 74, a resident of North Bonneville, who took his life with a shotgun on the previous Saturday.
     He is survived by the widow, a son and a daughter.
     The body of E.D. Williams, Carson resident, was found on Wednesday of last week. His wife had passed away seven weeks ago and this was believed to have influenced him to end his life.

"Glenwood News"

     Glenwood, July 14, (Special) -- The funeral of Mr. Guss Markgraf was held Wednesday afternoon at the church. The services were conducted by a minister from Hood River and the Gardner Funeral Home had charge of the funeral. Mr. Markgraf was born in 1874 and was the oldest son of the old pioneer family of Camas Prairie. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Hattie, and son, Karl, and daughter, Irene, besides many other friends and relatives. His four brothers, Charley, Willie, Ferdinand and Fred attended the funeral. He also has one sister, Rosa Brown, of Calif. Sincere sympathy is extended the bereaved family.
