GUY SMITH DIES HEART ATTACK

     Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 at Gardner's Funeral home for Guy DeVere Smith, 68, who died of a heart attack Friday Sept. 4 at his BZ Corner home.
     Rev. Roger L. Clevenger officiated. Burial was in the W.S. Oddfellow Cemetery. Pall bearers were Charles Johnson, Cecil Jaksha, Leo Williams, Harvey Mansfield, Merle Biesanz and Allan Murphy.
     Mr. Smith was born at Julesburg, Colo. on August 1, 1891. On Aug. 1, 1918 he was married to Gertrude McKinstry at Chapel, Nebraska. They moved to White Salmon 13 months ago.
     He is survived by his wife Gertrude and daughters, Mary Jane Thompson and Alta A. Baugher, all of White Salmon. Another daughter, Phyllis Haupt lives at Moses Lake; and two sons in Nebraska, Harold E. Smith of Sidney and Dean H. Smith of the USAF at Lincoln.
