GEORGE BRADFORD
Funeral services were held November 10 at the Lyle church
for the late George Bradford, who passed away on November 8. Interment was
in the Lyle Cemetery. Rev. George Jefferson, of White Salmon, officiating.
George Bradford was born in Pennsylvania September 12,
1865 and came west in 1892, homesteading on Klickitat Heights. He was married
to Alvia Daffron March 26, 1893 and three children were born to them. Survivors
are his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Staack, of The Dalles, Oregon; a
son, Frank Bradford, of Portland; six grandchildren, one great grandchild,
and two brothers living in Englewood, Colorado.

Pioneer Dies -- George Bradford, a pioneer of Lyle, Wash., died Sunday evening, November 8, 1942, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Staack, 1115 Liberty street, The Dalles, aged 77 years. He was September 12, 1865. He had been ill for the last seven months. The deceased is survived by his wife, Alvia Daffron Bradford, of Lyle; one son, Frank Bradford of Portland; one daughter, Mrs. Frank Staack, of The Dalles; two brothers, Samuel Bradford and Abnes Bradford, of Englewood, Colo.; six grandchildren and one great-grand-child. He was a member of the grange at Lyle, Wash. The funeral was held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at Lyle, followed by burial in the same community.
