GERTRUDE ELMER
ARPIN -- Gertrude Elmer, 86, Arpin, died at noon Wednesday
at the Bethel Living Center, Arpin, where she had been a patient for the
past eight years.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at United Christ,
Arpin, with the Rev. Don Adams officiating. Gwen Hagenmann will be organist,
and Debra Oleson will be soloist. Burial will be in the Arpin
Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Hagemann, Donald Grimm, Bill
Ohm, Carl Hohn, and Don VanNatta.
Visitation will be at Buchanan Funeral Home, Pittsville,
from 6-8 p.m. Friday and then at the church after noon Saturday.
She was born June 14, 1904, in Arpin to Nick and Rachel
Elmer. She attended Powers Bluff Grade School, Bethel Academy and Wausau
Business School.
She opened a restaurant in Arpin for many years and then
was employed in the office of Parkin Dairy, Marshfield. She retired in 1966.
She was a member of United Church of Christ and was a Sunday School
teacher.
She is survived by four sisters, Luella, Viola and Irene
Elmer, all of Arpin, and Barbara Elmer of Greenfield.
She was predeceased by one sister, Bena, and one brother,
Jacob.
