SERVICES TODAY FOR GEO. TANNER AT GARDNERS
George Effron Tanner was born September 15th, 1908 in
Seattle, Washington, the son of Fred J. and Bessie Esther Tanner and passed
away July 2nd at Hillsboro, Oregon.
Early in life the family moved to Lyle, Washington and
most of his life was spent there working as a logger. During the war he moved
to Portland and worked in the shipyards. Following the work there he moved
back to Lyle and lived there until December of 1960 when the family moved
to Beaverton, Oregon.
His parents and three sisters preceded him in death.
He leaves behind his wife, Vera Tanner; two stepdaughters, all of Beaverton,
Oregon. One son, George F. Tanner of Lebanon, Oregon; two brothers, Earl
C. Tanner of Los Gatos, California and Frank F. Tanner of Lyle, Washington.
Four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 5th, 2 p.m.
at the Gardner's Funeral Chapel in White Salmon with Rev. Roger Clevenger
officiating. Interment was in the Balch Cemetery, Lyle, Washington.

DEATH SUMMONS GEORGE TANNER
Funeral services for George Tanner, 53, brother of Frank
Tanner of Lyle, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at Gardners Funeral
Home, White Salmon.
The Rev. Roger L. Clevenger will officiate. Burial will
be in Balch cemetery, Lyle. Casket bearers are James Curl, Ray Hess, Ted
Sauter, Elmer Beeks, Marshall Hamm and Leonard Jerycke.
Mr. Tanner, a logger, was born Sept. 15, 1908 in Seattle
and died Monday, July 2 at Tuality Community Hospital, Hillsboro, Oregon.
He is survived by his widow, Vera R. Tanner, and two
step-daughters, Joanna and Linda, all of Rt. 1, Box 834, Beaverton, Ore.;
and two brothers, Frank of Lyle and Earl of Los Gatos, Calif.
