GILBERT G. MEYER
Gilbert George Meyer of Trout Lake died Wednesday last
week at Mesa, Ariz. He was 69.
Mr. Meyer was born Dec. 5, 1922 in Yakima to Ilah (Brown)
and William Meyer. He grew up in Moxee, Wash. where he farmed. He married
Velda Smith in 1943 and moved to the Tri-Cities in 1959 and Trout Lake in
1966. He owned and operated the Trout Lake Grocery Store until 1988. He was
a charter member of the Tri-City Elks Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and doing
crossword puzzles.
Mr. Meyer was a veteran of World War II, serving in the
U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Velda of Trout Lake; children,
Karen Neal of Trout Lake, Greg Meyer of Trout Lake, and David Meyer of Trout
Lake; brother, Walt Meyer of Yakima; sisters, Phyllis Clark of Seattle, and
Doris Norris of Yakima; grandchildren, Jamie, Morgan, Brad, Tara, Alisa,
and Laura; great grandchildren, Ashlee and Jessica.
Services were held at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon,
followed by vault entombment at Trout Lake Cemetery.
