GLADYS G. SCOTT
Gladys G. Scott, 85, a resident of Lyle, died at the
hospital in The Dalles on May 17.
She was born Aug. 18, 1909 at Carroll, Iowa to Johanna
(Thiermann) and Edward Peter Ryan.
She grew up in Iowa and moved to Gresham where she and
her husband farmed. They had several farms over the years in Washington.
She worked as a welder in the shipyards during World
War II, and after the war she worked as a nurses aid.
She moved to the Lyle area in 1974. Her husband, Donald
C. Scott, died in 1984.
She was a member of the Lyle Methodist Church and helped
the Lions Club with their breakfasts for many years. She liked to crochet
and enjoyed wildlife, especially birds, and also enjoyed playing the piano
and organ.
Survivors include three sons, Ivan Carl Scott, in Minnesota;
Wilbur Ralph Scott, Grants Pass, and Alan Jon Scott, Kennewick; a daughter,
Carolyn Jones Scott; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Gardner
Funeral Home in white Salmon with Rev. Jodene Romeijn-Stout officiating.
Burial will be in the Lyle Balch Cemetery.
Gardner Funeral Home of White Salmon is in care of
arrangements.

Gladys G. Scott, Lyle, died May 17, 1995, at the Mid-Columbia
Medical Center in The Dalles, at the age of 85.
Mrs. Scott was born Aug. 18, 1909 in Carroll, Iowa to

great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald C. Scott
in 1984.
Funeral services for Mrs. Scott were held May 20, 1995,
at 3 p.m., with Rev. Jodene Romeijn-Stout officiating. Interment was at Lyle
Balch Cemetery.
Gardner Funeral Home of White Salmon is in charge of arrangements.
