LAUREL PIONEER RITES HELD AT GARDNER CHAPEL
George I. Lyle passed away at Skyline Hospital in White
Salmon, Washington on December 13th at the age of 66 years. He was born in
Lyle, Washington to George and Belva Lyle on May 16, 1906.
His residence for all of his adult life has been Laurel,
Washington where he has been a rancher.
He married in Marcellaine Bertschi in Goldendale on December
21, 1928.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge # 1868 of White Salmon
and of Glenwood Grange #94.
Surviving him is his wife, Marcellaine Lyle of Laurel,
Washington; a son, Donald G. Lyle of Salem, Oregon; and two grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters: Ruby Richardson of Colfax,
Wa.; Edna Huffman of Spokane, Wa.; Margaret Alford of Winston, Or,; Zelma
Fullerton of Roseburg, Oregon. A brother, Frank Lyle of Glenwood, Washington.
Funeral services were held at Gardner's Funeral Home
in White Salmon Monday, December 18, at 1 p.m..
Rev. Mr. Eugene Haynes of the Bethel Congregational Church
of White Salmon officiated.
Interment was in the White Salmon Cemetery.
