ANOTHER PIONEER CALLED BY DEATH

     The White Salmon country mourns the death of George Krebs of Husum, who passed away suddenly at his home Sunday afternoon at the age of 75 years and 11 months. He was a pioneer of Klickitat county, coming to Laurel, Wash. In 1884 and in 1912 started a general merchandise store, and a hotel in Husum. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Mayme Minor and to them was born one daughter. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, two step-daughters, one adopted daughter, two brothers, O.P. Kreps of Laurel, R.M. Kreps of White Salmon, two sisters, Mrs. A.E. Johnson and Mrs. W.B. Cole, of Scappoose, Ore. Several nephews and nieces, besides a host of friends, who extend sympathy to the bereaved family.
     The services were held Wednesday with interment in the Glenwood cemetery.

HUSUM POSTMASTER FOR 30 YEARS, DIES
George Kreps, 76, Passes December 27th;
Born in Missouri January 28th, 1861

     George Kreps, 76 year old Husum postmaster, died at his home in Husum December 27th.
     Mr. Kreps was born in Missouri, and came to the White Salmon country in 1884 with his parents, S.P. and Rhoda Kreps.
     The Kreps settled in the Willamette Valley for a number of months, then moved to the Husum section.
     George Kreps was postmaster at Husum for 30 years.
     His parents, S.P. Kreps and Rhoda Kreps died in Laurel and were buried in Glenwood in 1917.
     He leaves to mourn his loss, two brothers, Oliver P. Kreps and family of Laurel; Richard M. Kreps and family of White Salmon, and two sisters, Mrs. Orpha Johnson and Mrs. W.B. Cole, both of Scappoose, Oregon.
     Mr. Kreps was married to Mrs. Mayme Miner in 1918. From this union one child was born, Georgia Marie Kreps, age 14 years.
     Interment was in the Mt. Adams cemetery.
     Mr. Kreps was born in Missouri January 28th, 1861.

GEORGE P. KREPS, 76, PIONEER, PASSES ON

     Another pioneer passed into the Great Beyond Sunday last at 3: p.m., when George Kreps, Husum postmaster died at the age of 76 years, at his home in Husum.
     Mr. Kreps was born in Missouri, and came to the White Salmon country in 1884 with his parents, S.P. and Rhoda Kreps.
     Before coming to the White Salmon and Laurel country the Kreps' settled in the Willamette valley for a number of months, then moved on to this section.
     George Kreps was postmaster at Husum for 30 years. His parents, S.P. Kreps and Rhoda Kreps died at Laurel and were buried in Glenwood in 1917.
     He leaves to mourn his loss, two brothers, Oliver P. Kreps and family of Laurel; Richard M. Kreps and family of White Salmon and two sisters, Mrs. Orpha Johnson and Mrs. W.B. Cole, both of Scappoose, Oregon.

     Besides his aforementioned relatives he leaves a host of friends and numerous nephews and nieces.
     Funeral services, under the direction of Gardner's service of White Salmon, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, under auspices of the Masonic lodge of White Salmon of which he was a member.
     Interment was in the Mt. Adams cemetery.
     Mr. Kreps was born in Missouri on January 28th, 1861.
