GLENWOOD MOURNS DEATH OF PIONEER
GLENWOOD, Feb. 2 -- The community was shocked Thursday
when word was received of the death of Mrs. Henry Ladiges who passed away
Wednesday while visiting relatives in Portland. Funeral services were held
at the Glenwood church Saturday, Rev. Good of Trout Lake being in charge.
Mrs. Ladiges was active in community affairs, kind and
cheerful of disposition. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Sellinger and daughter, Ilene of Vancouver and Mr.
and Mrs. Chas. Ladiges of Portland were in Glenwood Saturday attending the
funeral of Mrs. Henry Ladiges.
Mr. and Mrs. Keel and Mr. and Mrs. Abraham of Portland
attended the funeral of Mrs. Ladiges Saturday. Mrs. Keel and Mrs. Abraham
are daughters of the deceased.

Our community was shocked and grieved at the sudden death of Mrs. Henry Ladiges who passed away while on a visit with her daughters in Portland. She was buried in the Mt. Adams cemetery Saturday. He smiling face will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

MRS. H. LADIGES OF GLENWOOD PASSES AWAY
GLENWOOD, January 31 -- The funeral of Mrs. Henry Ladiges was held Saturday, January 29th at the church and she was laid to rest in the Mt. Adams Grange cemetery. Mrs. Ladiges passed away Wednesday evening in Portland, at her daughters's home, Mrs. Abraham. She was 56 years, 7 months and 5 days of age. She was born in Germany and came to this country about 25 years ago and married Henry Ladiges, who survives her and is also an early pioneer. Six children were born to this union and all survive. They are Maleta Keel, Eleanor Abraham of Portland, and Arthur, Osmar, Freda and Henry Jr., of Glenwood. She was a faithful member of the Grange Ladies Aid and Women's club, where she will be sadly missed. The floral offerings were very beautiful.

MRS. HENRY LADIGES
Gertrude Boellhoff was born Essen, Germany, June 25,
1882, and passed away at Portland, Oregon, January 26, 1938, being 55 years,
seven months and two days of age.
Her childhood and young womanhood were spent in the land
of her birth. She came to America in 1907 and was married to henry Ladiges
December 27, 1907 at The Dalles, Oregon. She came with here husband to Camas
Prairie, residing continuously here until her death.
Her immediate survivors are her widower, Henry Ladiges;
three daughters, Mrs. Maleta Keel and Mrs. Eleanor Abraham of Portland and
Frieda of Glenwood; three sons, Arthur, Osmar and Henry Jr., of Glenwood
and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Ladiges was interested in all civic activities,
belonging to the Grange, the Ladies Aid and the Camas Prairie and Vicinity
Pioneer Association. She was a charter member of the Glenwood Women's
Club.
A devoted wife and mother, a kindly neighbor and a
sympathetic friend, Mrs. Ladiges will be grievously missed by all who
have been privileged to know and associate with her.
