GRACE ROBBINS
Grace Lorain (Wotton) Robbins, a Trout Lake High School graduate,
died August 22, 2000, in White Salmon, at the age of 79.
Mrs. Robbins was born February 17, 1921, in Portland, Ore., to William
S. and Ethel Williams Wotton. She moved to Trout Lake at an early age and
attended Ashland School. She started high school in White Salmon, but
graduated from Trout Lake. After high school, she moved to Vancouver to
work. A short time later, she married Elvan Robins at Stempson logging camp
outside Forest Grove, Oregon, where she was waiting tables. They were
married on Nov. 29, 1941 in Vancouver. They raised their family in the White
Salmon area.
She enjoyed gardening, camping, crocheting afghans and flowers.
Mrs. Robbins is survived by her husband Elvan, White Salmon; daughters
Karen Martin and Melva Puddy, both of White Salmon; grandchildren Teresa
Stanley, Walla Walla, and Kamie Rossini, Crescent City, Calif.; brother Bill
Watton, Trout Lake; one great, great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by sister Margaret Bennington.
Graveside services were held at the White Salmon Cemetery, with Pastor
Dave Garrison officiating. Vault interment was at White Salmon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Gardner
Funeral Home, who is in charge of the arrangements.
