GRACE DAVIS
Grace M. Davis, a lifelong Klickitat County resident,
died Sunday in The Dalles after a long illness. She was 75.
Mrs. Davis was born Dec. 31, 1907 in Meadows of Dan,
Va., to Mrs. and Mrs. Aubrey Lewis. She is a graduate of Glenwood High School
and from college in Ellensburg. June 1, 1930, she married Wallace M. Davis
in Vancouver.
The retired school teacher taught in Glenwood for 34
years and in Bingen for four years. She was a member of the Trout Lake Grange,
the Glenwood Woman's Club, the Retired Teachers Association and the Presbyterian
Church.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Wallace, Husum;
her daughters, Marilyn Hilton, Hood River, and Evelyn Davis, Husum; three
brothers, Harold Lewis, Hood River, Clarence Lewis, White Salmon, and Russell
Lewis, Spanaway; three sisters, Lorene Ladiges, Glenwood, Edna Woosley,
Vancouver, and Virginia O'Grady, Portland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Kidd.
Funeral services for Mrs. Davis were held Wednesday at
10 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, with Pastor Mike Bonebrake
officiating. Interment was in the Trout Lake Cemetery.
