GAYLE MAXINE JASPERSON
Gayle Maxine Jasperson, 89, a resident of The Dalles,
died at a local care facility on Monday, Jan. 2, 2006.
She was born July 31, 1916 in Lake Mills, Iowa, the oldest
of three children to Glenn and Beryl (Burdick) Gaskill. She graduated from
Lake Mills High School in 1934.
She married John Edward Jasperson on June 22, 1935 in
Forrest City, Iowa and lived in Albert Lea, Minn., and Nevis, Minn. They
moved in 1956 to Dallesport where he worked on The Dalles Dam and have since
lived in the Dallesport area. She worked at "Mary Van's Floral" which is
now Sigman's Floral.
She was active with the Lutheran Church, a 4-H leader
and enjoyed growing violets and traveling with her husband when he retired.
She is survived by her three daughters, Carol and her
husband Gary Corson, Invercargill, N.Z., Rebecca and her husband, Rick Weddle,
The Dalles; Sharon and her husband, Pat Rutledge, Goldendale; numerous
grandchildren and great grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband John on Aug.
4, 1990.
Funeral services will be held at Spencer, Libby &
Powell Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2005 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow
at Lyle Balch Cemetery in Lyle.
