GEORGE KIDA
George Moses Kida died at his home, as he wished, in
White Salmon on Nov. 9, 1998, at the age of 85.
Mr. Kida, a U.S. citizen, was born on Sept. 13, 1913,
in the Snowden area, the only son of Kay (Miyaki) and Kenjiro Kida. He was
raised on the family ranch and farm in Snowden. He attended dairy college,
logged and worked in a sawmill. He then ran an equipment contracting business
in Southern Oregon. He was a member of the Masonic lodge.
Mr. Kida is survived by lots of relatives, all living
in Japan, and close and dear friends Mitsuko Combs, Mitsuko Kawasaki, and
Yuko Akabane. He leaves a lot of friends, whom he said he would meet again,
but for now he wanted to say, "So long, be happy, and keep smiling."
Services for Mr. Kida were held Monday, Nov. 16,1998,
at 11 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon. Interment was at White
Salmon Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home.
