GEORGE AERNI
George Washington Aerni died of cancer on Nov. 18, 2000,
at the Mt. Adams Care Center in Goldendale, at the age of 83.
Mr. Aerni was born Feb. 6, 1917, in Trout Lake, to Joseph
and Grace (McCray) Aerni. He lived in Trout Lake until 1957, when he moved
with his parents to Carson. After his father died in 1969, he and his mother
returned to Trout Lake to live in 1970.
Mr. Aerni was well-known in the community for having
a knack of being able to fix things, whether it was a radio, clock, toaster,
vacuum cleaner or any small appliance that was broken.
In 1989, he moved to Goldendale to live at Mt. Adams
Care Center.
Mr. Aerni is survived by his sisters Olive Davis, Hillsboro,
Ore., Pearl Maley, The Dalles, Ore., and Edna Edwards, Yelm; six nieces and
eight nephews: and many cousins and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by his parents and one sister, Ruth Lane.
A private memorial gathering will be held at a later
date. Disposition is by cremation.
Arrangements were by Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon.
