     George Castle passed away in The Dalles Hospital at eight o'clock Friday morning. The funeral service conducted by Rev. Geo. Good of Trout Lake, was held at the Dunkard church at Lakeside Saturday afternoon. Interment was in the Mt. Adams cemetery. There was a large crowd out to pay their last respects and mourn the loss of another pioneer. Sympathy is extended to relatives.

     The funeral of George Castle was held in the Dunkard church Monday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. Geo. Good, of Trout Lake, and he was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery. Mr. Castle passed away at The Dalles hospital Saturday evening. Mr. Castle had suffered a long time with cancer. Mr. Castle was an old pioneer, coming here from Virginia. His wife died six years ago. He had no children, but had many relatives and a host of friends who regret his passing.

     Laurel Resident Dead -- Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Lakeside community church at Laurel for George W. Castle, 70, who died Sunday morning at a local hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Castle was born in Willis, Floyd county, Virginia on September 2, 1861, and came to the west in 1894, settling near Laurel, 30 miles north of Lyle on a homestead claim where he had since resided. The only surviving relatives are three nieces and a nephew, who live at Laurel. Rev. Good, of Laurel, officiated at the funeral services, and interment was in the Grange cemetery at Laurel, under the direction of Crandall's.
