GEORGE HENDRYX FUNERAL SERVICES ON FEBRUARY 10
George W. Hendryx, who was born Feb. 22, 1913 in Amboy,
Wa. to Jennett and James T. Hendryx, Sr., passed away on Feb. 5th in White
Salmon at the age of 62. He had resided in Husum, Wa. for many years and
for the past 2 years had been living in White Salmon.
During World War II he had served in the Army Armed Forces
as a mechanic and saw extensive combat action in the European Theater. He
had received a Bronze Star, Purple Heart award and was in numerous military
campaigns while with an armored division.
He leaves: a daughter, Karen Mansfield (Mrs. Mike Mansfield)
of White Salmon; a son, Mic Hendryx of Ketchikan, Alaska; two brothers, Jim
and Bethewel Hendryx, both of White Salmon. One sister, Rose Skinner, of
White Salmon; two grandchildren, Shelley and Terry Mansfield; a niece, Mildred
Gilmer of White Salmon; and a nephew, Doug Hendryx. One sister, Rose Skinner,
preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 10, 10:30 a.m.,
at Gardner's Funeral Home with Rev. Homer Coulson of Goldendale, officiating.
Jack Gross was soloist and Marge Smith was organist. Interment was at White
Salmon.
Casket bearers were: Kenneth Gross, Jack Jones, Bennie
Clark, Jack Grubb, Orin Fink and Bodge Kreps.
Honorary bearers were: Russell Kreps, Carl Teel, Herb
Taylor and Roy Allen.
