HARVEY ABBOTT
Harvey Abbott, 82, of Goldendale, died Dec. 20, 2003,
at his home after an extended illness.
He was born on Sept. 10, 1921, in Moorhead, Minn., to
Francis and Marie Abbott.
The family moved to Yakima where Harvey graduated from
high school.
He served in the Navy during World War II. Abbott and
Lorraine Shields were married on May 17, 1949 in Hollywood, Calif. They moved
to Goldendale in 1955 where they owned and operated Triplex
Cleaners.
Abbott loved working and didn't retire until
2001.
He also liked music and dancing. Harvey was a member
of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion
and the Goldendale Lions Club.
His parents, four sisters and two sons, Robert Leonard
and Terry Edward Abbott, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Lorraine of Goldendale; five
daughters, Sylvia Abbott of Bainbridge Island, Shelley Abbott of New Bern,
Debora Abbott-Nuckolls of Leavenworth, Roxee Abbott of Henderson, Nev., Katherine
Abbott-Whitmore of Newbury Park, Calif.; one son, Michael Abbott of Yakima;
12 grand-children and two brothers, Herbert Abbott of Kennewick and Frank
Abbott of Auburn.
A Mass of Christian Burial was said on Dec. 26 at Holy
Trinity Church with Fr. William Byron officiating. Rosary services were conducted
on Dec. 25. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery under the care of Erdman
Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Goldendale
Lions Club, Knights of Columbus charities or Dr. Odgen's mission.
