HARRY C. CHENEY
Harry Clayton Cheney passed away at The Dalles Mar. 16
at the age of 78.
He was born to Reginald and Inez Cheney near Goldendale
Apr. 19, 1900. He was a retired logging truck operator for Carson Lumber
Co. and was a horse logger near Goldendale. He served in the Army during
World War II.
Survivors include wife Anna; son Gordon Lyda, Denver,
Colo.; stepssons Jack Johnson and Ted Johnson, Carson; stepdaughters Dorothy
Dohner, Seattle and Francis Johnson, White Salmon; brother Clinton Cheney,
Dayville, Ore.; sisters Mae Gregerson, Molalla, Ore. and Esther Brown, Salem,
Ore., three grandchildren and eight step grandchildren.
Services were Monday at the Knosher Funeral Home with
Pastor William Thoresen, Christ the King Lutheran Church, officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were John Bastrom, Ed Eichner, Arthur
and Merle Winterstein. Active pallbearers were Kenneth, Gary, Steve and Jack
Johnson, Jr., August Paasch and Roy Warren. Interment was in the Spring Creek
Cemetery.
