"Klickitat Heights"
Mr. and Mrs. Clint Conklin spent Friday at Lyle at the bedside of Grandpa Conklin, who was very low and later on Saturday morning passing away. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Lyle. The many friends extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.

OBITUARY
Herman Conkling was born in near Yarthmouth in DesMoine
county, Iowa, December 8, 1858 and passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
R. H. Chamberlain in Lyle, on November 26, 1938. He came to Klickitat county
in April 1901 and was married to Lucinda York Conkling on June 19, 1906,
at Goldendale, Washington. They made their home in the Klickitat Heights
district near Lyle until Mrs. Conkling's death on June 39, 1929. Since that
time he has made his home with Mrs. R. H. Chamberlain.
Mr. Conkling is survived by two children, Mrs. R.H.
Chamberlain and C.L. Conkling of Lyle. The funeral service was held in the
Lyle church Monday, November 28, Rev. Renolds of White Salmon, officiating.
Mr. Conkling was laid to rest in the Lyle cemetery.
