"Local Happenings"

     H.A. Doty, a former resident of this section, and well known here, died at the home of Geo. Hartshorn, near Toppenish, October 29th. The end came suddenly, and heart failure is attributed to be because of his death. Mr. Doty was 64 years, 1 month and 20 days of age at the time of his death. The remains were shipped to Goldendale, arriving here Tuesday morning. Funeral services were held from the Chapman chapel, R.W. Walker of Spring Creek, officiating, followed by interment in the Spring Creek cemetery. For several years, Mr. Doty was engaged in farming west of town, and after his wife died, which was something like two years ago, he spent most of his time near Toppenish with George Hartshorn and family. An obituary will follow.
