MOTHER OF 7 KILLED IN CAR ACCIDENT

Helen M. Anderson, 31, of White Salmon, was apparently killed instantly Saturday morning when the car she was driving plunged off the road on a curve on S.E. 6th street in White Salmon.
Mrs. Anderson, driving a '52 Mercury sedan owned by Jack fitzgerald, was alone at the time that she apparently was unable to negotiate the down-grade curve due to excessive speed. The car hurled 25 feet out, then dropped about 100 feet before hitting the hillside, Deputy Sheriff Harry Dawson reported. The vehicle then bounded into the air for 50 feet, rolling and bouncing, and came to rest about 200 feet below the edge of the road.
Deputy Coroner Moz Burles reported that death must have been almost instantaneous; the body was taken to Gardner's  Funeral Home.
Mrs. Anderson, divorced, is survived by seven children.
