     Mrs. Stratton died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. Cordier, Wednesday morning at 6 o'clock. Services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the chapel in White Salmon. Interment in Chris-Zada cemetery Underwood.

HATTIE J. STRATTON

     Mrs. Hattie J. Stratton, 67 years old, mother of Mrs. Aurelia Cordier, of Underwood, Wn., died last last Wednesday morning January 8, at 7:10 A.M., at the Cordier home in Underwood.
     She was born in Cottage Grove, Or., Dec. 5, 1868.
     Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Addie Willig of Salem, Oregon; Mrs. Aurelia Cordier, Underwood, Wn.; Mrs. Ruby Edwards, address is unknown; and one son, Charles Munson of Salem, Oregon.
     Mrs. Stratton was known in this area to be the first white woman to cross the rapids at Cascade Locks, of the Columbia river, by boat.
     Services were held Thursday at 2 P.M., from Gardner's Funeral Home, with interment in Underwood Cemetery.

HATTIE J. STRATTON

     Mrs. Hattie Jane Stratton died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Aurelia Cordier, at Underwood, Wednesday of last week. Mrs. Stratton was born at Cottage Grove, Ore., on December 5, 1868. She was the first white woman to shoot the rapids at Cascade Locks, which she did in pioneer days, in a canoe with an Indian as her companion. Mrs. Stratton is survived by a half-sister, Mrs. Addie Willig of Salem; a son, Charles Munson of Salem, and two daughters, Mrs. Aurelia Cordier of Underwood, and Mrs. Ruby Edwards, address unknown.
