HOMER H. BABCOCK
Homer H. Babcock, who moved with his family to Klickitat
County in 1910, died Friday, June 26, in Goldendale at the age of 77.
He was born Dec. 24, 1909 to Clarence M. and Stella M.
Babcock in Portland, Ore. The next year the family moved to Glenwood, where
Homer attended school. He and Bertha Gilmore were united in marriage on July
23, 1932 in Goldendale. Mr. Babcock was employed most of his life with J.
Neils Lumber Company and later St. Regis Paper Company as a road construction
foreman. The Babcocks moved to Goldendale in February 1986. Mr. Babcock was
a life member of the B.P.O.E. 1868 in White Salmon, and enjoyed woodworking
and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha of Goldendale, and
one son, Larry, also of Goldendale; four grandsons, three granddaughters
and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Holman of Vancouver, Wash.,
and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother,
Floyd, in 1968.
Services for Mr. Babcock were held Monday, June 29, in
the Glenwood Community Church under the auspices of Mt. Adams Elks Lodge
1868. Burial followed in the Mt. Adams Cemetery under the direction of
Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home of Goldendale.

Mr. Homer H. Babcock, 77, Goldendale, passed away Friday

He is survived by his wife, Bertha, Goldendale, and one
son, Larry Babcock, also of Goldendale. Four grandsons, three granddaughters,
three great-grandchildren, one sister: Marjorie Holman of Vancouver, and
several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Babcock was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd
Babcock, in 1968.
Mr. Babcock was a life member of Mt. Adams Elks Lodge
BPOE No. 1868 in White Salmon. He enjoyed woodworking and hunting.
Services were Monday, June 29, in Glenwood Community
Church with the Mt. Adams Elks Lodge officiating. Interment was in Mt. Adams
Cemetery under the direction of Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home.
