HENRY CLYDE WALKER
Henry Clyde Walker was born December 2, 1885 in Henry
county, Mo. to Robert and Pauline Walker. He died April 21, 1965 at the age
of 79 years, 4 months and 19 days.
In 1886 the Walkers moved from Missouri to Umatilla county,
Ore. They resided there until 1897, when they moved to Goldendale.
Mr. Walker was engaged in farming on Spring Creek until
1945. He then retired and moved to Goldendale where he resided until his
death.
On September 11, 1912 he was united in marriage to Lois
Darland, who preceded him in death in 1913. To this union one daughter, Eloise,
was born.
He was united in marriage to Ethel Mae Shippy on September
21, 1920. To this union three children were born: Robert, Laine and Dorothy.
He is survived by the widow, Ethel Walker of Goldendale;
four children, Mrs. Wayne (Eloise) Rice of Fair Oaks, Calif.; Robert G. Walker
of Eugene, Ore.; Laine Walker of Snohomish, Wash.; and Mrs. Richard (Dorothy)
Eastman of The Dalles, Ore.; seven grand-children and one great grand-child;
also one brother, Ralph Walker of White Salmon; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur
(Luzetta) Gossard of Toppenish, and Mrs. Henri (Gertrude) Bruneau of Portland,
Ore. Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Walker was a member of the First Baptist Church in
Goldendale.
Interment was at Spring Creek Cemetery, with the following
as pallbearers: Ernest Winterstein, John Hatfield, Emmett Williams, Lee Darland,
Harold Hill and Raymond Hill. The Rev. Kenneth Barnes officiated.
