HATTIE ANGEL
Hattie Elvyra Angel, formerly of Bingen, died Jan.27,
1996, at the Hood River Care Center, at the age of 85.
Mrs. Angel was born June 11, 1910, in Kamiah, Idaho,
to Anna (Kole) and George Teats. She married Rosco "Ross" Angel in Yakima
County in 1932. He died in 1980.
A retired school teacher, Mrs. Angel began and ended
her long teaching career in the While Salmon area. Her first teaching positions,
beginning in 1939, were in the Snowden and Mt. Brook schools. She and her
husband resided in the housing provided on the grounds of the Mt. Brook school
before moving to and building their home in Bingen.
Mrs. Angel is remembered by many as being "their teacher"
in both the Bingen and White Salmon elementary schools.
She is survived by her sisters May Haskins, Lewiston,
Idaho, Leona Davis and Eva Burkett, both of Elk; brother Cleo Teats, Muskogee,
Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mrs. Angel will be held today, Feb. 1, 1996,
at 1 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, with Rev. Dave officiating.
Interment will be in the White Salmon Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the White Salmon Valley School
District.
Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home in
White Salmon.
