HENRY FIENE FOUND DEAD IN BED LAST SUNDAY
Henry Fiene, for more than half a century a resident
of this valley, was found dead in his bed here Sunday. He was born in Hanover,
Germany, Dec. 25, 1845. For thirty-six years he had lived alone in White
Salmon since the death of his wife, who was killed by a tree which Mr. Fiene
was felling, as she brought his dinner to him in the woods. A niece, Mrs.
Mary Keyes, lives at Bingen.
The remains were buried on the old Stadelman place in
the Trout Lake valley Tuesday, by the side of his wife.
