OBITUARY
Henry Stacker was born in Holstein, Germany, June 11th,
1839. There he grew to young manhood, and served as a soldier for four years
under the Danish government.
On May 15, 1874, he was united in marriage to Magdalene
Bartram, coming immediately to the United States, where he settled near Stockton,
Calif. There they lived for three years, when they moved to it neared Hillsboro,
Ore. Three years later they moved to Klickitat County, Washington, homesteading
and improving the farm where he spent the balance of his life.
Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Stacker -- two
daughters and two sons. Elsa of Carrolton, Ore., was born in California;
Magdalene of Yakima, and Bodo at home were born in Oregon; and Fritz, who
departed this life on Sept. 3, 1905, at the age of 22 years, was born in
Washington. His dear companion was taken from him on Aug. 31, 1894, at the
early age of 38 years.
Although an invalid for the past three and one-half years,
he bore his suffering with great fortitude until the Grim Reaper saw fit
to relieve him of all earthly suffering, and at 8:30 p.m. on November 22,
1923, called him to join his loved ones in death.
Mr. Stacker was 84 years, 6 months and 11 days of age,
and leads to mourn him two daughters, one son and two granddaughters. Although
a sister-in-law, Minne Wendt, who has lived at his home since one year after
Mr. and Mrs. Stacker came to the United States.
Funeral services were conducted at the Hartland Baptist
Church, Monday, November 26, at 11:30 a.m., conducted by M. L. Sanders, D.D.
pastor of the Goldendale Methodist Episcopal Church. The remains were interred
in the Lone Pine cemetery at Hartland.

"Hartland"
Henry Stacker passed away at his home last Thursday night. Funeral services were held at the church Monday, Rev. Sanders of Goldendale, preaching of the funeral sermon. He was laid to rest in the Lone Pine cemetery.

"Local Happenings"
Henry Stacker age 84 years, 5 months and 11 days, and old-time resident of the Hartland section, passed away at his home last Thursday, after an illness lasting for three years and a half. Having lived in Klickitat for over forty years, he was quite well known over the valley. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Hartland Baptist Church, M. L. Sanders, D.D. officiating.
