KLICKITAT MAN PASSES AWAY IN THE DALLES
Herman F. Schmutzer, resident of Klickitat, Washington
since 1940, passed away at a hospital in The Dalles, Oregon on September
2nd. He was born August 11th, 1894 in Corning, Missouri. Survivors include
his wife, Ada Pearl, whom he married April 29, 1917 in Deshler, Nebraska
and three of six children born to this union: Herman E. Schmutzer of Klickitat;
Henry L__ Schmutzer of Fontana ___tana; Walter L. Schmutzer of Whittier,
California. Also a brother, Otis J. Schmutzer of Whittier, Calif. and five
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Nov. 5th, 2 p.m. at Gardner's
Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Hugo Larson of Klickitat officiating. Interment
was in the White Salmon Oddfellows Cemetery.
Casket bearers: Gus Steindorf, Frank Knapp, Lee Rolo,
Stephen Pachese, Alex McIntyre and Aaron Byron.

RITES HELD FOR H.E. SCHMUTZER
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5
at Gradners Chapel, White SAlmon for Herman E. Schmutzer, 66, Klickitat.
The Rev. Hugo Larson officiated. Burial was in the Odd Fellows cemetery,
White Salmon.
Casket bearers were Gus Steindorf, Frank Knapp, Lee Rolo,
Stephen Fachesh, Alex McIntyre and Aaron Byran.
Mr. Schmutzer was born Aug. 11, 1894 at Corning, Mo.,
and died Nov. 2, 1960 in a hospital at The Dalles, Ore. where he has been
a patient since Oct. 4.
He is survivored by his widow, Pearl; sons, Herman E.
Jr. of Klickitat; Henry of Fontana, Calif. and Walter L. of Whittier, Calif.;
a brother, Otis of Whittier; and five grandchildren.
