HAZEL YEACKEL
Hazel F. Yeackel, 80, recently of The Dalles, died Dec.
8, 1994 at her home in Yelm.
She was born Nov. 2, 1914, in Carthage, S.D., to Maude
Clary Parkhurst and William Franklin Feathers. The family moved to Texas
when she was a child. She graduated from high school in Santa Rosa, Texas.
She married Wilbur Yeackel of Centerville on Feb. 10,
1935. They moved to Glenwood in 1938, where he worked as a timber faller
for several years. They later owned and operated a grocery store in Glenwood
before moving to The Dalles in 1986.
Mrs. Yeackel was an avid Bingo and pinochle player. She
worked in the gift shop at the Mid-Columbia Medical Center as a member of
the hospital auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur. She
is survived by her daughters, Myrna McClean, Yelm, and Sharon Yeackel, Portland;
granddaughters Shelly Murray, Spanaway, Kelly Auton, Lacey, and Pamela Shuge,
Goldendale; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Dec. 13, 1994, at the
Centerville Cemetery, with Pastor Tom MacAdams of Christ the King Lutheran
Church officiating. Interment followed under the direction of the Fir Lane
Funeral Home in Spanaway and Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home of Goldendale.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart
Association.
