     HUSUM, Oct. 8, (Special) - Funeral services were held Saturday for one of our old times, Mrs. Gwendalyn Quinn, who passed away Wednesday of last week at the age of 89 years. Mrs. Quinn, who came from here England in 1896 was a renoun traveler, and hunted big game in Africa in her younger years. She was the daughter of a minister and one of 19 children. She is survived by two sons here, Guy and Felix Jones and two grand children, Jack and Dorothy Jones, and one son Ion Jones in east Africa and three grand children in England.

HARRIETT GWENLLIAN QUIN

     Harriett Gwenllian Quin was born February 5th, 1863. She was one of 19 children born to the Reverend John Price and Mrs. Price, four brothers and fourteen sisters, of whom five survive her. She was educated at Christ College and London University. With her husband and three young sons she came to this country in the fall of 1896. They lived for four years on the old Brown place between Husum and BZ Corners, moving to the present ranch known as Hunter's Hill, in 1900. In 1907, she took her children to England to be educated.
     While there they purchased the beautiful estate of the Earl of Darnley.
     She did of great deal of traveling, all through Europe at different times. In 1911, she went on a safari to Kenya east Africa, with her husband. During the nine months she was gone she killed many viscous animals, such as lions, leopards, buffalo, and rhinoceros. The hides and heads of these were taken home to England.
     During the first World War when her sons were overseas, she took a great interest in the Red Cross, for her service she was made a member of the British Red Cross.
     In 1922 she joined her sons in the ranch at Husum, where she lived until a few months ago. She was taken ill on November 1951 and after a prolonged illness she passed away October 1st, 1952 at Medical Lake, Washington.
     She is survived by three sons; Ion, Felix and Guy, five grand-children and one great grandchild.
     Funeral Services were held Saturday, October 4th at the Gardner's Funeral Home with Reverend George P. George officiating. Interment was in the Underwood cemetery.
