HERMAN H. “CURLY” MILLER
Herman H. "Curly", Miller of White Salmon died April 18, 1994; he was 89.
He was born July 1, 1904 in Rocky Bay.
As a young man Mr. Miller moved to Tacoma where he met
and married Lorraine Schlund, his wife of 64 years.
In 1956 the Miller family moved to White Salmon where
Mr. Miller went to work for SIDS Lumber. In 1966 he went to work at Chuck's
Hardware where he would work for many years. Before retiring he worked with his
son at Miller's Sports.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Shriners, the
Order of the Eastern Star, the Bigfoot and Good Sam Travel Clubs, and the United
Methodist Church.
He loved to play cribbage and horseshoes and was
especially fond of camping. He was always quick with a joke and a hug.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine who died
in 1993. Mr. Miller is survived by his sons Jack of Corvallis and Roger of White
Salmon; his brothers Carl and Hans both of Tacoma; his sister Marie Bellici of
Tacoma and his grandchildren Ryan and Jessica of White Salmon.
Funeral Services were held Saturday April 23, 1994 at
the United Methodist Church in White Salmon. The Rev, Willem Romeijn and Masonic
Lodge #163 officiated the service.
The family suggests contributions in Mr. Miller's name
be given to either the Hood River Hospice or the United Methodist Church.
The Gardner Funeral Home was in charge of all the
arrangements.
