HAZEL I. ALLEN
Hazel I. Allen, a former White Salmon resident, died
Saturday in Ilwaco, at the age of 72.
Mrs. Allen was born in July 3, 1916, in Walla Walla,
to Cage and Ethel Reed Scott. She received her schooling at Mt. Hood School
and Parkdale, Ore. She married Harold M. Allen on April 18, 1942, in White
Salmon, where they established their first home. She lived in White Salmon
until five years ago when she moved to Ocean Park. She was a homemaker and
loving, caring mother, who liked to work with her hands doing crafts and
gardening. She also loved to the beach and did a lot of beachcombing.
She is survived by her husband, Harold, Ocean Park; two
sons Fred Dollar of Carson and Robert Allen of White Salmon; four sisters
Violet Bailey, Vancouver, Margaret Butterfield, Redmond, Ore., Lena Ramsay
Bend, Ore., and Della Yarnell, White Salmon; ten grandchildren and eight
great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the
White Salmon Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Penttila's Chapel by the
Sea in Long Beach.
