HARRIS KREBS
Harris Elwood Krebs, a Klickitat County resident since
1955, died March 31, 1998, in White Salmon, at the age of 78.
Mr. Krebs was born July 17, 1919, in Charlotte, Mich.,
to Fred E. and Hazel. P. (Hawkins) Krebs. He lived in Glenwood for 15 years,
working for the J. Niels Lumber Co. and the Klickitat County Road Department
as a heavy equipment operator. He retired in 1982.
Mr. Krebs married Norma on Feb. 15, 1949. He was a tech
5 in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served on the Glenwood School
Board and was a member of the Public Empoyees Union and Veterans of Foreign
Wars.
Mr. Krebs is survived by his wife, Norma, White Salmon;
sons Dave, Longview, Wash., and Don, White Salmon; daughter Kathy Brooks,
White Salmon, two grandchidlren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded
in death by daughter Sandra Keck and grandson Nathan Brooks.
Graveside services for Mr. Krebs were held April 3, 1998
at Mt. Adams Cemetery in Glenwood.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge or Mt.
Adams Cemetery.
Gardner Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
