Hannah Christensen Passes At 83; Extension Club Elects Clayta

Mrs. Hannah Christensen, who underwent surgery at Skyline
Hospital in White Salmon two weeks ago, passed away Sunday at the age of
83. For a time it was thought she had passed the critical stage and was on
the way to recovery.
Funeral services were held in White Salmon Wednesday.
She is survived by two sons, Jack Christensen of Portland
and Chris Christensen of White Salmon; five daughters, Birdie Hyke, Carson;
and Nettie Baker, Ann Canfield, Signe Harris and Jennie Marble, all of Portland,
and a sister, Mrs. Laura Hilmanowski of Wisconsin.
She was Mrs. Ray Harrington's grandmother.

Funeral services for Hannah Louise Christensen was held,
Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 2 p.m. in Gardner's Chapel at White Salmon. Rev. George
A. McKinnis of the Assembly of God Church in Hood River officiated and burial
was in the Goodwill Cemetery, White Salmon.
Casket bearers were Upton Fuller, Jack Breedlove, Joe
Norris, Charles Long, Roy Chubb and L.G. Putnam.
Hannah Louise Christensen was born in Neilsville, Minnesota,
October 12, 1880 and died at Skyline Sunday, Nov. 24, 1963. She had been
a resident at Reed's Nursing Home since 1958 and was admitted to Skyline
a week before her death, November 16.
Since 1917 Mrs. Christensen has made her home in White
Salmon. On December 29, 1908 she was united in marriage to Marius Christensen
who preceded her in death July 14, 1946.
Nine of Mrs. Christensen's 14 children survive her. They
are Laura Hilmanowski, Elk Mound, Wisconsin; Agnetha Baker, Signe Holvis,
Anna Canfield and Jennie Marble, all of Portland; Helen Engert, Milwaukee,
Wisconsin; Albertha Hyke, Carson, Chris Christensen, Bingen and Jack Christensen,
all of Portland. There are also 36 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren
and 4 great great grandchildren surviving.
