HERMAN DEWATER

     Herman Lee De Water, a 39-Year Vancouver resident, died Monday in Vancouver. He was 83.
     Born May 25, 1898, in Augusta, Kan., he last lived at 2210 LaFrambois Road.
     DeWater was a retired foreman at Fort Vancouver plywood. He also worked for the state Highway Department for eight years. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Vancouver, and a former member of the Masonic Lodge in White Salmon.
     He enjoyed building boats and homes, woodworking, the outdoors, rockhounding and traveling.
     Survivors include his widow, Lois, at home; a daughter, Barbara Hassell of Ketchikan, Alaska; two sisters, Marjorie Guss and Delilah Curtis of Stanwood, Wash., and two grandsons.
     A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Vancouver Funeral Chapel. John Bristow will officiate.
     Memorials may be made to Columbia Christian College, 200 N.E. 91st Ave., Portland, 97220.

Lived at 2210 LaFrambois Road and had been a Vancouver resident the past 39 years; formerly of Willard and Seattle, Wash. He retired as foreman at Fort Vancouver Plywood and also was employed eight years at Washington State Highway Dept. Widow, Lois DeWater, at home. Daughter, Mrs. Barbara C. Hassell, Ketchikan, Alaska. Grandsons, Dan. J. and Clark R. Hassell, both of Ketchikan. Sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Guss and Mrs. Delilah Curtis, both of Stanwood, Wash. Member of Church of Christ, Vancouver, and a former member of the Masonic Lodge of White Salmon, Wash. Memorial services will be Friday, March 26th, 10:00 a.m., at Vancouver Funeral Chapel, 110 E. 12th St., with John Bristow of the Church of Christ officiating. Memorial contributions in Mr. DeWater's name may be given to Columbia Christian College, 200 NE 91st, Portland, 97220. Vancouver Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

H. DEWATER DIES AT 83

     Herman Lee DeWater, a onetime resident of Willard, died in a Vancouver nursing home, Monday, March 22, 1982 at the age of 83.
     Mr. DeWater leaves many friends in this area. While he was living in Willard he was employed for a time with the Broughton Lumber Co. and was later with the Washington State Highway Department. He moved to Vancouver some 39 years ago and was employed with Fort Vancouver Plywood from which he retired as a foreman.
     Mr. DeWater was a member of the Church of Christ of Vancouver and a former member of the White Salmon Masonic Lodge.
      He is survived by his wife Lois in Vnacouver, a daughter, Barbara Hassell of Ketchikan, Alaska; two sisters, Marjorie Guss and Delilah Curtis, both of Stanwood, Washington and two grandsons, Dan and Clark Hassell,  both of Ketchikan.
     Funeral services will be held today, Friday, March 26 at 10 a.m. Friday at the Vancouver Funeral Chapel, 110 E. 12th St., Vancouver. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Columbia Christian College, 200 N.E. 91st Ave., Portland, 97220.
