HOWARD L. MYERS CALLED BY DEATH

     Jehovah's Witness funeral services were held at Gardner's White Salmon Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 4, for Howard Levi Meyers, 43, Lyle logger.
     Adrian Bebona of The Dalles officiated. Burial was in Balch Cemetery, Lyle.
     Mr. Myers was born Oct. 14 1919 at Snyder, Colorado and died Wednesday, Feb. 27 at the Veterans Hospital, Portland.
     After graduation from Lyle High School in 1940, he joined the National Guard during W.W. II. Most of hiG 6ervice was spent in the Aleutian Islands. He was married to Dollie Howell on March 28, 1950.
     He is survived by his widow Dollie and three children. Robert, Judy and Ricky; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Hewitt; sisters, Eda Hewitt of Seattle, Mae Lane of Mosier, Ore. and Vera Roberts of Rufus, Ore.
     Also two brothers, Walter Hewitt of Yacolt and Herb Hewitt of White Salmon; and an uncle, Charlie Myers of DeLake, Ore.

MYERS SERVICE HELD ON MONDAY

     Howard Levi Myers was born at Snyder, Colorado, October 14, 1919 to Richard and Della Myers. He passed away February 27, 1963, at the age of 43 years and 4 months.
     Howard graduated from high school at Lyle, Washington in 1940. After graduation he joined the National Guard. During W.W. II he spent most of his service time in the Aleutian Islands.
     He was married to Dollie Howell on March 28, 1950.
     Howard was a hard worker, honest and understanding with friends and family. Most of his work was in the timber as a logger. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to his friends and neighbors. He and his wife became members of the Jehovah Witnesses in 1957. He was a true member from then until his death.
     Surviving him are his wife, Dollie and three children, Robert, Judy and Ricky. Also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Hewitt; three sisters, Eda Hewitt of Seattle, Washington, Mae Lane of Mosier, Oregon, and Vera Roberts of Rufus, Oregon; two brothers, Walter Hewitt of Yacolt, Wash., and Herb Hewitt of White Salmon; and an uncle, Charlie Myers of DeLake, Oregon. Many other relatives also survive him.
     Funeral services were held Monday, March 4th at 10:30 a.m. at the Gardner's Chapel with interment at Balch Cemetery in Lyle, Washington.
