HENRY M. KLATT
Henry M. Klatt passed away Sept. 9 at the Klickitat Valley
Hospital. He was born Nov. 19, 1901 in Montrose, S.D., the youngest son of
William and Emely Klatt.
In l903 he came west with his family and settled in Klickitat
County where he made his home most of his life. On June 9, 1928 he was married
to Gladys Walker who survives him at their home in Goldendale.
Much of his life was spent in timber and mill work, most
of which was working with his brothers in a local mill.
He had been in poor health for a good many years and
for the last year and a half had been severely handicapped following a stroke
Dec.19, 1974 while residing near Yuma, Ariz.
He was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are
his wife, Gladys; one son, Charles Klatt living in St. Maries, Idaho; three
grandchildren: David Klatt of Kendrick, Id., Janet Wagar from Lewiston, Id.,
and Valerie Klatt in Seattle, as well as one great granddaughter, Anna
Klatt.
One sister, Belle Wert of Yakima, also survives.
Funeral services were held Sept.13 at the Knosher Funeral
Home with the Rev. Tom Beck officiating. Pallbearers were Pete Simmons, Les
Jobe, Lee Ritter, Loren Storkel, Lerry Sybouts and Bill Smith. Interment
was at the Springcreek Cemetery.
