FINAL RITES FOR HARRY N. HALEY

     Harry Newman Haley passed away at Skyline Hospital in White Salmon, June 4th. He was born in Dickson, Tennessee on April 29, 1898 to O.K. and Velma Haley.
     He was married to Nina Huffman on April 9, 1944 at Ilwaco, Washington. He was a member of the White Salmon Elks Lodge and the Eagles Lodge. For the last twenty years he had resided in White Salmon. At present he had been retired from logging for the last several years.
     He is survived by his wife, Nina Haley of White Salmon; a son, Ernest Haley of Sunnyside, Washington; a step-son, Willis Lathrop of Beaverton, Oregon; a step-daughter, Lorene Sturges of Los Almos, New Mexico; his mother, Velma Haley of Reno, Nevada; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His brother, Richard M. Haley of White Salmon and three sisters: Jeanne Moxley of Reno, Nevada; Lucille Holden of Portland, Oregon; Mildred Schulen of Texas, also survive.
     Funeral services were Wednesday, June 7th, at 2:00 p.m. at Gardner's Chapel in White Salmon. Interment was in the White Salmon Cemetery. The Elks Lodge officiated with Rev. Roger Clevenger also having part in the service.

HARRY HALEY RITES HELD WED.

     Harry N. Haley, 69, died suddenly Sunday morning, June 4, at White Salmon of a cerebral hemorrhage.
     He is survived by his widow, Nina Haley of White Salmon; his mother, Mrs. Velma Haley, Reno, Nevada; a brother, Richard M. of White Salmon; three sisters, Jeanne Moxley, Reno, Nev., Lucille Holden, Portland and Mildred Schuler, Dalles, Texas; a son, Ernest Lloyd Haley of Sunnyside, Wash.; two step-children, Lorene Sturgesss, Los Alamos, N.M. and Willis Lathrop, Beaverton, Ore.; eight grandchildren Donna and Harvey Lathrop, Robert Sturgess, Lois Steeves, Alene, Wayne, Patricia and Glend Haley.
     A funeral was held Wednesday, June 7 at 2 p.m. at Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon with Mt. Adams Elks Lodge in charge of the services. Burial was in Goodwill Cemetery, White Salmon.
     Casket bearers were Amos Perce, Tony Guler, Jim Austin, Ed Knoll, Gryce Read and Bill Jacobson.
     Mr. Haley was born at Dickson, Tenn. April 29, 1898 to O.K. and Velma Haley. He moved to the White Salmon area during the 1920s. He was married to Nina Lorene Huffman, April 19, 1944 at Ilwaco, Wash.
     He was a member of the Mt. Adams Elks No. 1868 and the Eagles Lodge No. 2210.
     Before his retirement he was a logger.
