HENRY VERMEIRE
Henry P. Vermeire, a resident of White Salmon for the
last 60 years, died Thursday in Hazel Dell at the age of 84.
Mr. Vermeire was born May 5, 1898, in Belgium to Mr.
and Mrs. Clement Vermeire. He married Dollie Walker in Stevenson Dec. 24,
1926. He was a retired logger.
He is survived by his wife, Dollie, Underwood; his children,
Henry Vermeire, May Gilmer, and Ed Vermeire, all of White Salmon, Jo Killaby,
Lacey, Rose Grove and Jean Manning, both of Underwood, Alice Anderson, Lacey,
Dorothy Hagain, Raymond and Pearl Van Heusen, Ethel; one sister, Margaret
Brimm, Portland; 32 children; and 40 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mr. Vermeire were held Tuesday
at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jim Franklin officiating. Interment was in the White
Salmon cemetery.
