SERVICES SATURDAY FOR MRS. ERKKILA
Funeral services were held Saturday in Goldendale for
Mrs. Elmer Erkkila, who died last Wednesday.
Hilda Selma Erkkila, daughter of pioneer parents, Peter
and Mary Ann Niemela, was born at Centerville, Wash., April 6, 1887. She
died February 6, 1963 at the age of 75 years.
On January 25, 1910 and she was united in marriage to
Elmer Erkkila.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer, of Centerville;
two daughters, (Sadie) Mrs. Delbert Hamllik of Yakima and (Elda) Mrs. Richard
Hamllik of Goldendale; one son, John, and with his wife, Ellen, of Battle
Ground, Wash.; three grand-children, eight great-grand children and several
nieces and nephews. One sister and four brothers preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church, and
lived all her life time in the Centerville community.
Services at Knosher Funeral Home, were conducted by Ray
Hilman of the Apostolic Lutheran Church, Centerville. Pallbearers were Alvin
Randall, Arnold Hoikka, Arthur Basse, George Willis, Otis Mattson, and Richard
Mattson.
Interment was at Centerville Grange Cemetery.
