H.V ROMINGER, 95 YEARS OLD, CALLED BY DEATH

     Henry Virgil Rominger, who observed his 95th birthday in March, passed away Monday evening shortly before 6 p.m. He had been in Vancouver Memorial hospital for some time, and for three years or more, he had been a partial invalid. Prior to that time, he was active in civic and religious affairs in his home neighborhood of Underwood.
     Funeral services will be held in White Salmon at 2 p.m., today with Rev. G. P. George officiating. Interment will be in the Underwood cemetery.
     Mr. Rominger was a retired minister and for several years has been an almost regular corresponded to The Pioneer. One of the best educated and most travelled persons in the Northwest, he had an unusual command of the English language and wrote entertainingly and constructively on almost any subject. He was an ardent supporter of public power, fought liquor and espoused New Deal objectives at every opportunity.
     With Mrs. Rominger, he came to Skamania county many years ago, locating on a fruit farm atop Underwood Hill. Until he became inactive, he devoted his time to pear growing, continuing to reside in his home overlooking the Columbia river until two years ago when, following the death of Mrs. Rominger, he moved to the Bonneville Sanitarium where he lived until he took up residence in Vancouver.
     He was born and North Carolina on March 18, 1854. His parents were James Mason Rominger and Lydia Pauline Rominger. He was married to Miss Alice Beitel in 1890 before coming to the northwest. There were no children.
     Prior to his entry into the Vancouver Memorial hospital, he had lived at the Mountain View Cemetery Sanitarium in Vancouver.

ROMINGER-At Vancouver Memorial hospital. Rev. Henry Virgil Rominger of 3334 "L" st., Vancouver, aged 95 years. Retired minister. Lived in the Underwood district for many years prior to coming to Vancouver in September, 1948. He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Born March 18, 1854 in North Calrolina. Member of Congregational church. The remains have been entrusted to the care of the Vancouver Funeral chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 15, 1949 in The Methodist Church in White Salmon, Washington. Final interment will be in the Underwood Cemetery.

     Rev. Rominger, a resident of Underwood for many years, passed away at Vancouver Memorial hospital Sunday night. Funeral services will be held in here in the Methodist Church today at 2 p.m..
     Burial will be in the Underwood Cemetery. Rev. George will officiate.
