HAROLD WELLENBROCK
Harold "Wimp" Wellenbrock of Mercer Island died on May
29, 1998.
Mr. Weflenbrock was born to George and Sophie Wellenbrock
on Feb. 2, 1920, in Glenwood, where he was raised. He graduated from high
school in 1938. He went into the Army on his 22nd birthday, Feb. 2, 1942,
and didn't return home until November, 1945. Mr. Wellenbrock moved to Mercer
Is land in 1989. He was an active member of the Elks and the Community Center
in Mercer Island.
He loved pool, bowling and baseball and was a season
ticket holder for the Seattle Seahawks. Mr. Wellenbrock is survived by his
son Howard "Bun" Wellenbrock and his wife Anita, Glenwood, and two grandchildren
Alan and Lori, also of Glenwood; two great-grandchildren Jackie and Jessie
of Granite Falls; two sisters Sadie Simpson, Jamestown, Calif., and Lela
Ward, Glenwood; his companion Vi Schade, Mercer Island; her daughter and
son-in-law Joan and Man Coogan, North Brunswick, N.J.; three grandchildren
Debbie, James and Sarah, and one great-granddaughter Christina; and numerous
nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Wellenbrock were held June 3,
1998, at the Pioneer Memorial Community Church in Glenwood, with interment
following at Mt. Adams Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society
in care of Gardner Funeral Home, who was in charge of local arrangements.

Harold "Wimp" Wellenbrock, 78, of Mercer Island, passed
away May 29, 1998.
He was born and raised in Glenwood Feb. 2, 1920, to George
and Sophie Wellenbrock. He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1938. Harold
served in the Army from 1942-1945. He moved to Mercer Island in 1989.
Harold was an active member of the Elks, and the Community
Center of Mercer Island. He loved pool, bowling and baseball, and was a season
ticket holder for the Seattle Seahawks.
Survivors include his wife, Anita; one son, Howard "Bun"
Wellenbrock; two grandchildren, Alan and Lori, all of Glenwood; two great
grandchildren; two sisters, Sadie Simpson, of Jamestown, Calif.; Lela Ward,
of Glenwood; his companion, Vi Schade of Mercer Island; her daughter Joan
and husband Matt Coogan of North Brunswick, N.J.; three grandchildren; and
one great granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephew and friends.
Funeral services were held June 3, 1998 at the Pioneer
