INEZ B. CHENEY
Inez B. Lester was born in Kansas on April 21, 1880 and
passed to her heavenly home on May 4, 1964 at Silverton, Ore., at the age
of 84 years, one month and four days.
She came to Washington with her parents when she was
but two years old, first settling in Goldendale, later moving to Kelso and
Vancouver, but returned to Goldendale where she lived most of the rest of
her life. In 1900 she was united in marriage to R.F. Cheney, who preceded
her in death in 1930. To this union two daughters and four sons were born,
all of whom survive her. They are Esther A. Brown, Edmonds; Mae McEwen, Mollala,
Ore.; Harry D. Cheney, Stevenson; Clinton F. Cheney of Prineville, Ore.;
Loren E. Cheney, Portland, Ore. and Lloyd G. Cheney of Long Beach. She is
also survived by several grand and great grandchildren.
She joined the Baptist Church many years ago and was
one of the Sunshine Ladies of Goldendale for many years. She had lots of
friends. She spent her last few years with her daughter in Mollala, Ore.
The funeral will be held Friday, May 8 at Knosher Funeral
Home. Interment will be in the Spring Creek Cemetery.
