IDA ELMINA NIEMELA

     Ida Elmina Niemela was born in Calumet, Mich., on October 22, 1877 and passed away in Goldendale on September 14, 1966 at the age of 88 years, 10 months, 8 days.
     She was the daughter of Gabriel and Johanna Walman. They moved west when she was a child and homesteaded near Centerville.
     She was married to William Niemela January 5, 1898 and lived on a farm near Centerville until 1962 when they moved to Goldendale. Mr. Niemela preceded her in death February 26, 1964.
     She was a member of the Centerville Church of Christ (would have been member 59 years in December), and the Centerville Grange.
     Survivors include five sons, Lores, of Wenatchee; Frank of Goldendale; Leland of Longview; Harvey of Centerville; and Weston of Salem, Ore.. Three grandchildren, Judith Orell, Michael Niemela, and Carol Hershman; five great grandchildren and one brother, Albert Walman of Milwaukee, Oregon.
     Services were conducted September 17, 1966 at Knosher Funeral Home, Goldendale. Officiating Minister was Bill Parker. Pallbearers were Arthur Basse, Otis Mattson, Ernest Basse, Harold Eshelman, Otis Anderson and Hugh Cameron.
     Interment was in the Centerville Cemetery.
